Terms of Service

The rules for using email.sb: your account and addresses, how mail is received and retained, payments, and what you must not do.

Last updated

These terms govern your use of email.sb, a mailbox service for members of SB Forum. Please read them before you create an address.

1. Acceptance

By signing in to email.sb or holding an address on it, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy, which forms part of them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. If you already hold addresses, you can delete them in your account.

2. Service Operator

email.sb is operated by Show Corporation (“we”, “us”), a company incorporated in Delaware, United States, at 838 Walker Road, Suite 21-2, Dover, Delaware 19904, United States.

3. The Service

email.sb receives email for the addresses you claim and shows it to you on this website. If you purchase the sending feature, you can also compose messages and replies using addresses on domains enabled for sending. The service is used only through this website:

  • it offers no SMTP submission, IMAP or POP3 access;
  • apart from forwarding you buy and confirm, it does not forward or relay email, and sends no automatic replies;
  • it sends no bounces to other people. Mail it does not accept is refused during the SMTP session, and the sending server tells the sender.

Sending

Sending is a one-time purchase of $5.00 for your account. It allows you to send from addresses you hold on domains enabled for sending. The rolling limits are 20 recipients per hour, 100 per 24 hours, 400 per 7 days and 1500 per 30 days (half of each for the first 7 days after you buy sending), and each message may be up to 25 MB. We may lower or raise the limits for an account.

Every outgoing message is checked by our spam filter before delivery. Messages classified as spam are not sent. We sign outgoing mail with DKIM. When a receiving server reports that an address does not exist, we stop sending to that address for 30 days. If your mail is often rejected as spam or often goes to addresses that do not exist, sending is paused automatically until we review it. We may also pause it after complaints. When you no longer hold an address, you cannot send from it. Pending deliveries from that address are cancelled.

We do not guarantee that a receiving server accepts your mail or delivers it to an inbox.

Forwarding

Forwarding requires sending and is bought once per account for $5.00. Each address can forward to one mailbox, starting once that mailbox confirms by a link; a copy stays in your inbox. Forwarded mail is sent from your address, counts toward the sending limits above, and has the original sender as its reply address. Spam is not forwarded; past your limits, mail only stays in your inbox. Forwarding stops when the address leaves your account or your sending is paused. Forward only to mailboxes you are entitled to use.

We may add features later. New features may come with their own prices and rules, which we will publish before they apply to you.

Incoming mail is checked automatically for spam and malware. Mail may be refused, delayed or placed in your spam folder because of that check, because it is larger than 50 MB, because your storage is full, or because the address does not exist or is not active.

We do not guarantee that any message will be delivered or that the service will always be available, and there is no service level agreement. To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Do not rely on email.sb as the only copy of anything important. We do not keep backups of your mail and cannot recover mail once it is deleted.

4. Accounts

You sign in with your SB Forum account; email.sb has no passwords of its own. You must be at least 16 years old and a member of SB Forum in good standing. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to these terms yourself, you must have reached it. You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your forum account secure, because whoever controls it controls your mailbox.

Each person may hold one account. Do not create or use accounts to get around limits, bans or prices.

5. Addresses

An address is a name together with a domain, such as [email protected]. You can hold one primary address and up to 50 aliases; the first 5 aliases, across all domains, have no additional alias fee. A free alias you delete keeps its free slot taken for 30 days. Name registration fees may still apply. Names use letters a–z and digits 0–9 and normally have at least 4 characters. Shorter names and some premium names cost extra; the price is shown when you create the address.

Dots before the @ are ignored when mail arrives, so [email protected] reaches [email protected]. Anything after a + is a label for the same address: [email protected] reaches [email protected].

Holding an address gives you the right to receive mail at it under these terms. It does not give you ownership of the name. Some names are reserved. Mail to postmaster, abuse, privacy, support, security and legal at every domain reaches us.

When you delete an address, it stops receiving mail at once. Mail already received remains in your account. The address can be registered by someone else after a 30-day cooldown.

6. Transfers

You can transfer an address to another member with a transfer link, which is valid for 72 hours. The transfer fee ($1.00 unless stated otherwise) is taken from your balance when the other member accepts. After a transfer, new mail goes to the new holder. Mail received before the transfer remains in your account, and the new holder cannot see it. An address received by transfer cannot be transferred again for 7 days. Only aliases can be transferred or deleted; a primary address cannot. You can make any alias your primary address at any time, and your previous primary address then becomes an alias.

Whoever holds an address receives the password reset and verification messages sent to it. Before you transfer or delete an address, change the email address on every service you signed up for with it. We are not responsible for accounts you lose because you did not.

7. Storage and Retention

Each account has 1 GB of storage free. Your usage is the full size of every message you have received, including spam, archived mail and attachments, until you delete it. You can buy more storage, up to 1 TB in total. When your storage is full, new mail is refused until you delete mail or add storage.

Mail is kept until you delete it. If you do not sign in for 365 days, we delete all of your mail and release all of your addresses. If you have connected Telegram, we remind you before this happens.

8. Balance, Vouchers and Purchases

Your balance is held in US dollars and is funded by redeeming vouchers, which are sold on SB Forum. A voucher can be redeemed once; its full value goes to the account that redeems it first. A voucher may have an expiry date. We may revoke a voucher that was obtained fraudulently.

The balance is service credit for use on email.sb only. It is not cash or a deposit, and it cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for money or moved to another account.

Prices are shown before you pay. Purchases (extra aliases, short names, transfers, storage and sending) are one-time payments from your balance. Purchased storage and sending remain available to your account without recurring fees, including after mail and addresses are deleted for inactivity under section 7. They end if your account is banned or removed under section 11. Purchases are not refunded, except where we cannot provide what you paid for. Prices may change; a change does not affect what you have already bought.

9. Acceptable Use

You must not use email.sb, yourself or for anyone else, to:

  • send or receive mail as part of fraud, phishing, identity theft, money laundering or any other unlawful activity;
  • send unsolicited bulk or commercial mail, mail to bought, rented or scraped address lists, or mail to people who have asked you to stop;
  • send mail that hides or forges its origin, or that carries malware;
  • receive child sexual abuse material or anything that facilitates the sexual exploitation of minors;
  • create accounts on email.sb or other services in bulk or by automation, get around another service’s sign-up limits, trials, bans or verification, or sell, rent or give away addresses or access to them;
  • impersonate a person, company or institution, including with an address that suggests you are someone you are not;
  • harass or threaten anyone, incite violence, or support terrorism or violent extremism;
  • infringe anyone’s rights, including copyright and trademarks;
  • use the service by automated means other than an ordinary web browser, probe or attack it, or try to get around its limits, prices or security.

10. Your Mail and Our Access

Our systems process mail automatically to receive, filter and display it. Administrators can view messages you submit in abuse or phishing reports, and each view is logged. The admin interface does not provide access to other message contents. See the Privacy Policy for details. We disclose mail or account data only in response to valid legal process.

11. Suspension and Termination

We may refuse mail, pause or end sending, ban an account, reclaim an address, or delete mail and addresses if you breach these terms or the law, if your forum account is banned or removed, or if a court or competent authority requires it. A banned account cannot sign in, and mail to its addresses is refused. The balance and purchases of an account banned for a breach are not refunded.

We may change, limit or end the service. If we end it, we will give reasonable notice where we can so that you can save your mail.

You can stop using email.sb at any time by deleting your addresses and mail. To have your account data deleted, write to [email protected].

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Show Corporation and its staff are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the service or your inability to use it. This includes mail that is lost, refused, delayed or deleted, messages received by a later holder of an address, and lost profits, data, accounts, business or goodwill, as well as any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Show Corporation against any claim, loss or cost, including reasonable legal fees, that a third party brings or causes because of your use of the service or your breach of these terms.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may change these terms. Changes are published on this page with a new date. If you keep using email.sb after a change takes effect, the changed terms apply to you.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

16. Contact

These terms are published in English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. If the language versions differ, the English version prevails.
